From 21 to 24 September, the Institute of Bioorganic Chemistry of the Polish Academy of Sciences participated in the 7th Polish Genetics Congress in Wrocław. The Institute’s booth, where we also actively promoted G4PL - Genomics for Poland, attracted considerable interest from attendees at this prestigious event.
What did we achieve?
During the Congress, we collected 33 saliva samples from new donors. Equally valuable were the many conversations we had with visitors to our booth. We explained the process of donating genetic material and actively encouraged researchers and doctors working on rare diseases to collaborate with us. We also reminded participants that they can donate blood for the project at our collection point in Poznań.
Why is the G4PL project so important?
Our presence at the Congress was an excellent opportunity to highlight the importance of the research infrastructure we are building. The G4PL project is a strategic step towards improving the availability and quality of genomic research in Poland. By bringing together the efforts of 12 institutions nationwide, we are creating a genomic database that will serve as a foundation for scientific research and the development of precision medicine in Poland.
Thank you all for meeting with us and for the insightful discussions! 👋
🇪🇺 The Genomics for Poland (G4PL) project is co-funded by the European Union under the European Funds for Smart Economy programme.
